It’s been quiet around here for almost two weeks but I’m glad to announce that we are back and ready to roll! Just so you know, my initial plan was to create new content during weekends and then publish mid-week. Let’s just say things didn’t go as planned because by mid-week I was either still writing the post or in a hurry to go live without editing.

The break needed to happen to help me get into a more workable schedule for putting up content on the blog. So, the new plan is to start working on any post two weeks before it is due so I can have ample time to develop, edit and also source for photos. I think this approach would work for now.

And while we were on break, faenomenal.com clocked two months!

Let’s eat some cupcakes and celebrate!

Our first post went live on January 10, and since then we’ve put up at least one post under each category on the blog. Remember when we talked about few activities that could make your commute time less of a bore?  We also shared a few tips to make everyday, Valentine’s day here and what type of music would be appropriate for Christians to listen to here.

Has it been a smooth ride? I wouldn’t say so. I got bitten by the comparison bug several times and I honestly wondered why I decided to blog. But then, we’ve made progress too, like when we moved to our own dotcom site and had five people subscribe to the blog! These ‘little’ things make my heart sing.

We’re still a long way from a million hits, but we’re definitely going to get there. Meanwhile, here are some things I plan to do before our first anniversary:

  • Promote blog posts on my social media accounts (I’m only active on Facebook, follow me @faenomenal)
  • Join Instagram, finally (’cause it seems that’s where the action is, haha)
  • Buy a premium blog theme that displays more posts on the homepage
  • Be consistent with the once-a-week post schedule
  • Increase the number of subscribers by 200%
  • Guest-post regularly, and engage more with my favourite bloggers

lets dream

So, fingers crossed and I hope we smash all these goals. Yes, we because I need your help to do this. If you liked a post, please leave a comment, share on social media, and subscribe to the blog here if you haven’t done so yet. Also, do let me know if there are topics you want to see on the blog so we can work towards it.

This also happens to be my birth month and I’m giddy with the excitement of turning a new age. I had planned to glam up for a photoshoot and probably go on a solo date but the couch potato side of me will not allow my birthday be great. So, I think I’ll just opt for a more quiet celebration though I’m very intentional about marking the day by reflecting on my journey so far. What are birthdays for anyway?

Let the countdown to March 31 begin! I should do a proper birthday post by then, maybe I’ll share a few random facts about myself, or photos from the photoshoot if I change my mind.

Finally, you may want to check out this guest post I wrote for Annie Ejiofor Writes on the longest road trip I’ve ever been on. It’s my first guest post since I started blogging and hey, I think it calls for celebration, no matter how small. Please leave a comment, will you? And do take a look around Annie’s blog too, she writes really good stuff.

Till next week,

Remain phenomenal,

xx, Fae

  1. Fae! Maybe I love calling your name or I love you that much. Hahaha.

Congrats on clocking two months on the blog! You have my best wishes for your blog goals.

You know I’m a huge fan of your writing and follower of your blog.

Please, glam up, go on a solo date and do the birthday photo shoot. Please????

I went out today on a solo date to see a movie. The potato couch in me almost talked me out of it, but I’m glad I followed through on it. At every turn, too, I was tempted to invite a friend to join in, but I needed to do it alone and I’m glad I did. It’s my first solo date. I should do this more.

It was beautiful hosting you on the blog.

    1. Hahaha…Dr Annie! I love you too, and I always have this sheepish smile whenever I’m called Fae 🙂

How can I say thank you for the support you’ve given me so far? **blows kisses**

Mmmm….my inner spirit really wants to do the shoot and solo date, thank you for the push. I’d think about it…on the couch, haha.

What movie did you see? My guess is Black Panther, if I’m wrong then no photoshoot, no solo date again. Okay, you know I’m looking for an excuse…please tell me I’m right biko.

Thank you for having me on AEW, your blog is an inspiration!

  2. Congrats Fae! You’ve produced beautiful contents in two months; cheers to more!

Have a fabulous birthday celebration. Budget doesn’t have to be high, you could go out on a date with you- that would be awesome.

    1. Thank you so much, Flora!

I’m really looking forward to this birthday, and I’m taking your solo date advice too. I realised that in the long run it’s the memories that matter not the money that went into it.

I’m so happy you came to the blog. Please stay around, we need you.
